		<description>Liz Gillies has created quite a few Pilates workouts and this one is the most difficult one I&#039;ve tried in her series. The workout begins with a standing sequence that is based on ballet. You are constantly moving with interesting balance challenges. If you are used to doing Pilates mostly on a mat then this will present quite a few new exercises. I especially enjoyed the &quot;Windmill&quot; and the creative &quot;Side Lunges.&quot; You really do feel like a dancer during the first segment. 
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;The workout then moves to the mat where you will experience a fast paced routine complete with exercises for the abs, back and shoulders. The leg circles are more difficult as you do them with both legs at the same time. You may recognize Bridge, the Teaser, Boat Pose, Swimming, Elephant (Downward Dog) and Mermaid. 
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;A Cool Down follows with active stretching. If you want to end up on the floor panting then you can go on to the Bonus Ab Workout. Here you will experience the Pilates Crunch, Roll Up, Double Leg Stretch, Scissors, Straight Leg Lift and Criss Cross.

&lt;br /&gt;I can&#039;t imagine anyone thinking this is easy. If you follow each exercise and keep up with the pace you are guaranteed to feel the burn. For years I&#039;ve been doing Pilates and this is one of the most difficult workouts I&#039;ve tried.

		<description>I had been working out to the pilates for dummies tape for about 4 months and am in search for another pilates routine.  This workout was too fast-paced for me.  I had read other reviews and disagree with those who say that this is great for beginners.  I couldn&#039;t keep up, and even some of the modifications were not easy.  It might be good for an intermediate exerciser new to pilates or for someone who has a dance background.  It&#039;s not designed for an out-of-shape beginner.  Also, one of the reasons why I want to use pilates is because I have a bad knee and the dummies tape did a really good job of helping it feel better.  Some of the exercises in the standing poses did not feel good on that joint.
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;Edit:  I changed my rating, because I looked on here to research it before getting the workout and can&#039;t find that anything that officially advertised that beginners can use this DVD.  There is no product description and the only information to be found is in the reviews left by customers.  I would recommend this more towards those who have an intermediate level of fitness or perhaps even an &quot;intermediate&quot; beginner.  The instructor does not explain pilates basics so I wouldn&#039;t recommend it to someone who had never done it before.  It is assumed that the viewer already knows the basic principals.  I did not mind the instructors personality style although I agree she could&#039;ve done better on the cuing a few times.  It is more aerobic than traditional pilates.

AFTER DOING THE WORKOUT 10 TIMES, I COULDNOT BELIEVE THE SHAPE I WAS GETTING INTO, I COMPLETELY BUILT MUSCLES IN PLACES I NEVER EXPECTED, AND IT REALLY STRENGTHENED MY BACK.
&lt;br /&gt;I WOULD TOTALLY RECOMMEND THIS DVD TO ANYONE WHO THINKS THERE IS NO HOPE.  I have passed the dvd around to all my friends now and once a week we get together and do a class and we have so much fun whilst learning new techniques at the same time.

Beginners (which I am not) would be lost altogether as the instructor doesn&#039;t demonstrate her steps. The mat work is marginally better but not enough for me to ever touch it again. Therefore, this tape and the other ones I also bought from this series in the same purchase, are going in the &quot;Goodwill&quot; bag.

		<description>The workout is a good 40 minute routine that I found challenging; however, I just hate the fact you have to navigate through all these warnings, disclaimers and commercials . And you can&#039;t just let it run while you do other things, there is a disclaimer that you have to select agree/disagree and certain parts of the opener you cant fast-forward before you get to the main menu. True it is only 5 minutes, but gets irritating after a while. Aside from that its a good workout.

		<description>Having no previous experience with yoga or pilates, this DVD was easy to follow along with.  The work out is fantastic, you really feel the workout all over your body.

		<description>I bought this dvd based on the existing reviews on this site. I really wonder how real are the pple that put reviews on this site. This dvd is simply too easy. What a waste of my money. I&#039;m going to give this to my mother who can move it onto her even older friends. Not one review even mentions that for anyone used to doing yoga, this dvd is simply a waste of time. 
&lt;br /&gt;Perhaps the intermediate or even the vinyasa would have been a better choice for me. That is why I&#039;m reviewing this, so that I could have found such a review, before I wasted my money.

		<description>I am a little confused with Mr. Urla&#039;s attempt to fuse yoga and Pilates. In this video, when are we doing Pilates and when are we doing yoga and what is the difference? The pace of the workout is about right for beginners, except that his movement cues were not correct at times and he seems to equate the word &quot;beginner&quot; with &quot;idiot&quot; - as most of the time he sounds like he&#039;s talking to a bunch of small children.  &quot;we call this pose, the warrior&quot; -Annoying!! The music gave the whole thing a sort of Asian water garden feel. And although Mr. Urla is incredibly beautiful, must he be dressed all in white like some sort of yoga saint? I would say if you want to do yoga, look for a beginnners yoga video. 90% of this video is hatha yoga, except that he avoids using too many yoga terms. But if you want to do Pilates, then seek out a beginners Pilates video. There is a LOT more to Pilates than what this workout suggests. Sometimes fusing things together just doesn&#039;t work all that well as is the case here. Overall,it&#039;s a nice workout if you just want to move your body and you don&#039;t really care to know too much about either discipline.
