2 questions: Can I do the same Pilates Ab workout everyday? How can I relieve sore abs w/o medications?

I found a very effective pilates ab routine on youtube and this is the second day I have done it. Is it ok to do everyday until I am satisfied? My abs are sore, as they generally are when I workout intensively after a while, but I just ignore the pain and keep going. Should I place ice or hot water bottles on the sore areas or is there a natural remedy?

I would recommend working out the “counter muscles,” as this would stretch the abs. Your muscles are sore b/c they are slightly ripped so they also tighten up. To stretch them you should do back lifts by laying on your stomach and lifting up while keeping your hips flat.
While its ok to do it every day, I wouldn’t overdo it. Let your muscles heal some.
If you insist on using something to aleviate the soreness besides more exercise, heat is better. Ice is terrible. A hot shower works just as well.

Honestly i wouldnt recommend doing it everyday as that will hurt your muscles more than help them. When you dont give your muscles a resting period they decinigrate. I would suggest you do it 3-4 times a week.
As for your abs being sore thats normal considering you just started the program you abs arent used to doing it. What i usually do when that happens is take a nice warm bath or get in a sauna to relax your muscles. Eventually if you keep on the program and do it 3-4 times a week your abs will get used to it and the pain will be no more.
Hope this helps =D
